Proctor’s food options can get a little repetitive, to say the least. The next time you’re feeling ~fancy~ and want to let those creative juices flow, head over to the panini press and let your hot, melty, sandwich dreams come true.

If you’ve always been too intimidated by the crowded panini corner in Proc, have no fear, here are some tips and inspiration to build up your confidence. You, too, can be a panini master.

Breakfast Panini

  • Prep Time:5 minutes
  • Cook Time:3-5 minutes

    Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread of your choice (recommended: croissant, bagel, english muffin)
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup spinach leaves
  • 1/4 cup scrambled eggs OR 1 fried egg
  • 1 sausage patty OR 2 sausage links
  • Salt
  • Pepper

  • Step 1

    Place slice of cheese on one slice of bread.

  • Step 2

    Sprinkle salt and pepper on top of cheese.

  • Step 3

    Assemble spinach leaves on other slice of bread.

  • Step 4

    Place sausage on top of spinach.

  • Step 5

    Carefully place scrambled eggs or fried egg on top of sausage.

  • Step 6

    Close the halves and place on panini press. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown.

Pizza Panini

  • 2 tablespoon tomato sauce (from pasta station)
  • 2 slices swiss cheese
  • 5-10 green bell pepper strips
  • 5-10 mushroom slices
  • 5-10 onion slices

  • 1 tortilla
  • 3 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1/8 cup black beans
  • Hot sauce to taste
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1/8 cup sour cream
  • 1/8 cup salsa

    Layer slices of cheese on half of the tortilla.

    #SpoonTip: Keep cheese 1/4 inch from the edge of the tortilla to prevent it from melting out. 

  • Step 2

    Evenly sprinkle black beans over the cheese.

  • Step 3

    Add dashes of hot sauce to taste.

  • Step 4

    Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.

    Fold tortilla in half and place on panini press. Cook 3-5 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

    Top with sour cream and salsa.

Chocolate, Raspberry, and Cream Cheese Dessert Panini

  • 2 slices bread (recommended: croissant, french toast, pre-sliced bread)
  • 2 tablespoon cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoon raspberry jam
  • 3 tablespoon melted chocolate chips

    Spread cream cheese in center of one slice of bread, 1/4 inch away from edge.

  • Step 2

    Spread raspberry jam on other slice of bread.

  • Step 3

    Close the halves and place on panini press. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until bread is golden brown.

    Drizzle melted chocolate chips over panini.

    (Do not put chocolate chips in the Proctor panini press.)
