Everyone loves to spoil his/her pup, so why not spoil him/her with these 5 delicious dog treats?  Making these treats for your dog can be easy and fun!  Most of these recipes only take a few ingredients that you likely already have in your kitchen.  Of course, all of these recipes are healthy for your dog to eat, and you can be relieved knowing exactly each ingredient in their food.  All of these treats are edible for humans as well, though I bet your dog will like them better!

1. Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits 

These biscuits are super easy to make and only use 3 ingredients!

1. Start by preheating the oven to 350 ℉.

2. In a bowl, combine 2 cups of whole wheat flour, and mix in 2 eggs and ½ cup of peanut butter.

3. Slowly add teaspoons of water until you've used ¼ cup of water.

4. After combining all of these ingredients, you should be able to form your mixture into a dough.  The dough should be thick and somewhat dry.

5. Form the dough into a ball, and roll it out.  You can cut the dough into various shapes using cookie cutters or a knife.

6. Once finished, place the biscuits on a non-stick baking sheet, and place them in the oven for about 15 minutes.  Be sure to let them cool down before feeding to your pet!

2. Oatmeal Dog Treats

These oatmeal treats are an excellent source of fiber for your dog!  It's great to make during the holidays when extra turkey is lying around, or if you have extra chicken that you don’t want to waste, it'll fit right into this recipe.

1. To get started, preheat your oven to 350 ℉.

2. Mix 1 ¾ cup of whole wheat flour with 2 ½ cups of oats and 1 teaspoon of baking powder.

3. Separately, in a blender, mix 1 ½ cup of your turkey or chicken scraps with 1 cup of chicken/turkey broth.  It should be an almost slimy consistency.

4. Add your blended mixture to the dry mixture, and stir.  It should form a dough that can be kneaded.

5. It’s very important that you flour the surface you're working on before kneading the dough!  Cut the dough into any shape you choose.

6. Finally, grease a pan, spacing out your treats on it, and cook them for 25 minutes or until golden brown.  If your pet is a meat-lover, he/she will leave no crumbs.

3. Frozen Fruit Treats

These treats are perfect to cool down your pup after a day spent sunbathing in the heat!

All you'll need to make them are your dog's favorite fruit, plain Greek yogurt, a blender/food processor, and an ice cube tray.  If you want to get extra creative, you can use a dog bone or paw print ice tray to make them.  You can find one here.

1. To start, blend 2 cups of strawberries, bananas, or your dog's favorite fruit (make sure that the fruit you choose is safe for your dog to consume!!), and blend together 1 ½ cups of plain Greek yogurt (be sure that it has no flavor!).

2. After your fruit and yogurt are blended well, add in ¼ cup of skim milk, and blend it again.  You can add a teaspoon of honey for extra flavor if you want.

3. When everything is fully mixed, you can pour it into your ice cube tray, and freeze for 4 hours.

4. Apple & Carrot Biscuits 

1. To make about 12 dog biscuits, grate thin slices of one apple (the skin isn't needed).  Make sure that none of the seeds are used, as dogs can't consume them safely.

2. Secondly, peel and grate a large carrot.  Add in one egg and 1/3 cup of vegetable oil, and beat it.

3. Set the wet ingredient mixture aside, and in a new bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of oats and 2 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour.

4. Once complete, slowly mix the two bowls together.  If you find the batter to be too dry, add a little bit of water.

5. Roll out the dough on a non-stick surface, and cut it into shapes of your choosing.

6. Lay out on a non-stick pan, and cook for about 40 minutes in the oven.  You can store these in the freezer to last longer!

5. Banana & Honey Dog Treats

To make these delicious and mouth-watering treats, you'll need 2 bananas, honey, vanilla extract, an egg, whole wheat flour, and baking powder.

1. Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Stir 2 cups of water, 2 tablespoons of honey, one egg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla together, and mash 2 bananas before adding them to the wet ingredients.

3. Once completely mixed, add in 4 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour and a teaspoon of baking powder.  This recipe will make 72 biscuits, so cut down the measurements as necessary

4. Cut the dough into any shapes you want.  Put them on a lightly greased baking sheet, and pop them in the oven for 30-40 minutes.  When they're done, they should look slightly brown and crispy.

5. Be sure to wait about 10 minutes for them to cool, and then transfer the treats to a wire rack.  Allow them to sit and cool down completely before serving to your furry friend!
