Our Spoon Chapter is always looking for new members, which means you'll constantly be meeting new people who bring something unique to the table. What's better than having a group of friends who are always down to try new restaurants with you, or cook up a storm in the kitchen?
2. Get Your Work Published and Viewed

Getting your work published is a huge deal in itself. At Spoon, your work also has the opportunity to be read by thousands, even millions, of people. Spoon University is a huge company that is spread worldwide over 200 college campuses. When you publish an article it will be automatically posted on your chapters website. Not only this, but you'll have the opportunity to have your work featured on the main Spoon website, Facebook, or Instagram.
3. Write About What You Want To Write
You may have other opportunities to get your work published in college, but it may not be writing something you are totally interested and invested in. Spoon is different. We're not just about food, in fact we even have a new branch called Healthier focusing on wellness. Take some time yourself to explore the Spoon website, you'll quickly see that there aren't strict limits on what you can write. Want to write about dogs and açaí bowls in the same article? Go for it! Where there's a will, there's a way.
4. Food!
I'm the type of person who goes to farmers markets just for the free samples, so for me, free food is a good reason to join anything. Working with a team of people who love food as much as you do means you'll probably be eating a lot of it together. From snacks at meetings and info sessions to possibly partnering with restaurants and other clubs, food is always on the horizon. Not to mention, you'll now have even more reasons to go try out all the trendy restaurants in Seattle. (It's for your article, of course!)
5. We Won't Take All of Your Time
This isn't a job, or a chore. The cool thing about collaborating with a team of people is that not all of the work is left up to you. You'll have to create at least two articles every month, which isn't too hard of a task when you're basically just sharing things you love with the world. This is an opportunity for you to gain real world experience and get your work read all around the globe.
