From dipping the chicken in egg yolk to coating it with breadcrumbs, you wind up with a sticky mess on the counter, on the floor, and on your fingers. Some people - myself included - don't have the stomach for this.

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 4 hours

Recipe:

1 lb. chicken breasts (frozen or thawed)

1 jar marinara sauce or 2 cups of homemade sauce (I recommend the Basil and Garlic sauce from Aldis grocery store)

1 4 oz. can of tomato paste

1 Tbsp. of dried oregano

¼ cup fresh basil (or 1 Tbsp dried)

½ cup chicken broth (or 1 cup if you like your marinara sauce runnier)

Instructions:

1. Put the chicken in your crock pot, salt and pepper it well

2. Literally just put all of the remaining ingredients into a crock pot with the chicken, put the lid on, and turn the heat setting on high for 4 hours.

3. After 4 hours, shred the chicken (I use a fork) and let it set on low heat for 30 minutes (this will let the chicken soak up the flavor really nicely).

4. Serve with your favorite pasta, zoodle, or rice. I recommend
