As a vegan myself, when I first left for Barcelona, I was a bit worried that I would be relying on rice and bread for all of my calories. However, I quickly found that this wasn't the case. The city is bursting with plant-based options, so you definitely won't go hungry. It turns out that it's not difficult to find delicious, vegan restaurants in Barcelona, and these are some of my favorites.

Brunch & Cake

Possibly one of the most popular restaurant chains in Barcelona, Brunch & Cake offers a myriad of delicious, vegan options that everyone can enjoy. I personally tried their açai bowls, which were absolutely amazing. However, their falafel salad and hazelnut oatmeal also look delicious. Brunch & Cake's menu changes seasonally, but it is marked based on allergens, making it easy to distinguish between which meals are plant-based and which are not. Bonus: Brunch & Cake is one of the most Instagramable spots in Barcelona, food or otherwise.

Flax & Kale

Perhaps predictably, I also got an aćai bowl at Flax and Kale, and it did not disappoint. They offer some of the best granola I have ever eaten. Similarly to Brunch & Cake, Flax & Kale is not solely vegan. Yet, as with Brunch & Kale, they make it easy to distinguish which foods you can and cannot eat. Other than açai, Flax & Kale offers some delicious looking salads, avocado toast, and pasta. Everything is extremely healthy as their motto is "Eat Better, Be Happier, Live Longer."

Woki Organic Market

Woki Organic Market was probably my favorite place to eat in Barcelona, despite the fact that it is not as well known as the previous two restaurants. Everything here is fresh and delicious. If you are a fan of guacamole, I cannot stress enough how much you need to go here. Other than guac, Woki Organic Market serves-up amazing vegan pizza, salads, juices, and burgers.

Mercado de La Boqueria

Okay, so this isn't technically a restaurant, but after giving this market a try, you definitely won't be disappointed. Walking around, you are certain to find some fresh juice, delicious smoothies, and colorful fruits. Personally, I had some incredible mango. Whatever you get, it's the perfect place for a pick-me-up during a busy day of sight-seeing.

Bún Bò Vietnam

This restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, but, to me, that makes it even better. Bún Bò offers a selection of plant-based smoothies, coconut curries, as well as other traditional (and some not-so-traditional) Vietnamese cuisine. Curry is one of my  favorite foods, and this was among the best that I have ever eaten. So, if you get the chance, venture down to Bún Bò and give this cute, colorful restaurant a try.

So, there are plenty of vegan-friendly restaurants to choose from in Barcelona. Even if you don't go to any of the restaurants on this list, there are certainly many more vegan restaurants in Barcelona. If your family or friends don't want to venture into the realm of plant-based foods, it's always easy enough to gorge on veggie paella and tomato bread. No matter what, you won't run out of options in Barcelona.
