Nothing brings people together quite like beer and food. If you like either of these things as much as I do, Whitewater Brewing Company is the place for you. With two locations in the Ottawa Valley, you can experience the brewery by taking a lakeside tour and dining in Cobden, or by visiting the riverside brew pub in Foresters Falls. No matter which you choose, the hardest decision will be which beers to try. Or if you're feeling adventurous, maybe you'll try them all.

Their Beer

Whitewater Brewing Company has four original beers: Farmer's Daughter, (a blonde ale) Whistling Paddler (an English-style ale), Class V (an India pale ale), and Midnight Stout (an oatmeal milk stout). These originals are brewed throughout the whole year, but the brewery also features seasonal beers.

A few examples of Whitewater's seasonal options are the Watermelon Blonde, a fruity watermelon blonde, and the Honey Badger, a nutty are caramel flavoured northern honey brown. My personal favourite is the Jacked Rabbit—an espresso beer made with the help of the Madawaska Coffee Company and cold-steeped for 16 hours.

It's safe to say that the Ottawa Valley shares a love for hockey. Whitewater Brewing Company knows this, which is why they've introduced the KLR93. It's a "Killer Brew," named after the Hockey Hall of Fame hero Doug Gilmour. This hockey season, why not get in the spirit by watching your team play while sipping on a KLR93. Whitewater Brewery's products can be purchased at one of the brew pubs themselves, The Beer Store, or the LCBO.

Fun Events

If eating in for lunch or dinner at one of the brew pubs or touring the brewery doesn't interest you, check out some of their legendary events. Whitewater Brewing Company often teams up with other local companies to bring fun activities to the Valley. Last week, they co-hosted Beer Yoga Night with Ottawa Valley Craft Beer Festival and Move·ment Yoga Studio. The night was a huge success for beer lovers and yoga lovers.

At the Cobden location, every Monday night is trivia night beginning at 7pm. They also bring in several artists to perform at both of their locations including Dale Yuke with his Acoustapalooza, rising star Adam Saal, and the Rowdy Yates Band.
