Fozzie's Pizzaiolo, Cafe and Deli is located at a very easily accessible location - Bodakdev, Ahmedabad. Don’t let easily accessible deceive you though. Anyway, we were treated with a spacious looking place with seating arrangements both inside and outside on the terrace.

The Food

All this aside, let’s talk about the food. Fozzie’s menu is loaded with very interesting names. Let me name a few for you here. Aglio o olio, Leonardo, Michelangelo (all names of pastas), also an especially intriguing one, ‘Get lucky tonight’. Props to whoever prepared the menu. What we tried was fries on pizza, arabiata pasta, a virgin mojito and the no mistake pizza.

Fries on pizza was, obviously, just like it sounds, BAD. Pizza and fries are amazing dishes individually, but this attempt at being creative and integrating both of them was a fail, honestly. The pasta, well let’s just say I’ve had much better ones. At this point, I’d like to clarify that it’s not a 'diss Fozzie's' piece.. well, it actually is one. Because it’s a place which, I think, is hyped for no reason, and really heavy on the pocket too. They have Mac n' cheese on their menu which costs Rs. 300! Why would I want to shell out 300 bucks for mac n’ cheese? I’ve had whole meals on which I’ve spent lesser than that. Money becomes a big factor when you’re a college student and are forced to order from restaurants regularly because your mess gives oily cabbage and dal baati for meals.

Is it worth it?

A disclaimer though: I’m a vegetarian and can only vouch for the vegetarian dishes that I had at the place. I’m not that biased, guys. The only reason I’m writing this is because I absolutely did not think that travelling to Ahmedabad from Gandhinagar for Fozzie’s was worth it. Nope. Going to offer a free advice, and like Rancho said in the movie 3 idiots, lena hai toh lo nahi toh chod do (take it if you want to, otherwise leave it), if you’re travelling from Gandhinagar or some place far especially for Fozzie’s, then don’t. It’s not worth it. If you’re there in the vicinity though, no harm in trying, is there (except the money you spend on it)?
