If you don't know who Chrissy Teigen is you need to Google her right now. Not only is she an amazing model, mother and person, but she is also a great home chef. She created her first cookbook, Cravings - Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat, in 2016 and spent the next year and a half perfecting and testing out recipes for her second cookbook which came out earlier this year. She now has two cookbooks out for sale and they are both filled with delicious and creative recipes. You may be asking yourself why do I need to buy her cookbook? Besides the obvious reason of having a heavenly smelling kitchen and happy tummy, I will explain why you need to buy Chrissy Teigen's "Cravings" cookbook right now!

You need this cookbook because of the abundance of unique and almost crazy sounding recipes. Including "Split Pea Soup with Crispy Hot Dogs", "Dump and Done Ramen Salad" and "Cheesy Jalapeño Tuna Casserole with Potato Chip Topping"! Teigen writes a few sentences about each recipe to explain what inspired her to create each dish. She also lets you know what specific brands she recommends and other helpful tips for the at home cook.

If the unique recipes from Cravings - Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat don't sound up your alley, she has plenty of classics and easy recipes, most with a little spin to amp up the flavors. Such as "Crispy Bacon Hashbrowns" and "Mexican Street Corn". A lot of her recipes are intended to feed a family (4+ people) which is great, however, if you are cooking for only 2-3 people you can always easily cut the recipe in half by cutting all the ingredients in half!

Overall her cookbook has tons of recipes varying in difficulty and uniqueness. She also includes a brief introduction to her cookbook explaining her food background and childhood. She describes her favorite foods as packed with flavor, spices and textures. She knows her food because she loves it and really tried to make each dish of hers full of flavor and push the at home cook out of their comfort zone.

Some of her recipes are more difficult due to the Thai inspiration. She has a whole section dedicated to her mother and her background. This section includes some traditional Thai recipes like "Jok Moo" and "Punded Thai Papaya". These recipes do require some harder to find ingredients such as fish sauce, Thai chile and oyster sauce. Since these ingredients are harder to find and not regularly used by the typical chef, it is hard to justify purchasing these items. This is something to keep in mind, however overall the cookbook is filled with amazing recipes, and some ingredients may be worth the search to purchase.

Overall Review

Chrissy Teigen managed to make at home cooks become master chefs that create meals packed with flavor, incredibly unique and fairly easy. Some recipes are more advanced and include ingredients that may be hard to find, or unlikely to be used again. However overall the cookbook is worth the purchase. You can pick up her cookbook on Amazon for about $16 plus shipping or check out a bookstore in your area! There is also a Kindle version available if you don't want a hard copy.

The short answer to why you need to buy Chrissy Teigen's Cravings cookbook right now - because of the unbelievable use of flavors and spices that she combines to make her meals. All of her recipes sound delicious and the pictures are vibrant, just looking at them makes my mouth water!
