Are you looking for the best first date spots on Arthur Avenue? Look no further. How do you know which places are worth your time and money with so many places to choose from? First dates are stressful enough to begin with. Trying to decide what to wear and how to act is essential, but the real test of a great first date is the restaurant of choice. After all, I think it is fair to say that people with good taste in food automatically get brownie points. That's why I'm going to give you the complete rundown on the best first dates spots that are sure to impress.

Enzo's:

Located at 2339 Arthur Avenue, Enzo's is a staple for locals and newcomers alike. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, and the atmosphere is perfect for a first date. The portions at Enzo's are large and are worth every bite. Their red sauce, Chicken Parmigiana, and Penne al la Vodka are a must-try. Enzo's is also offering heated outdoor seating due to the pandemic; the best way to enjoy your date and be safe while doing so. Overall, Enzo's is the place to go if you are looking for an Arthur Ave staple serving great food and even better service.

Roberto's

Right around the corner of Arthur Ave, you'll find Robertos. This hidden gem not only has some of the best food around, but the atmosphere is one of a kind. The elegant, classy, and old fashion setting in the restaurant makes it a perfect spot to impress a first date. Although the dishes are a bit more on the pricey side, they are definitely worth the splurge. To start, order the Barbabietole e Burrata (burrata salad with arugula) or the Parmigiana di Melanzane e Zucchini (eggplant and zucchini parmigiana with mozzarella and tomato sauce.) For your main course, get the Radiatori in Cartoccio (radiatori pasta cooked in tinfoil with porcini mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, bread crumbs, and shaved Parmigiano Reggiano) if you are in the mood for pasta. But if you want some more protein in your dish, go for the Bistecca Alla Peroni (rib-eye steak topped with cherry peppers, gorgonzola cheese, finished in a Peroni lager sauce.) Every dish at Roberto's is a winner, but the real locals know that for an exceptional meal, you've got to order one of their specials. Overall, you really can't go wrong at Roberto's.

Calandras Cheese

If dinner isn't your kind of first date, I recommend hitting up Calandra's Cheese, located on 2314 Arthur Avenue. The workers here ensure that every customer that comes into the store leaves, not only with a great selection of cheese but with a desire to come back again and again. It is truly an experience in itself. People come from miles away to buy their cheese at Calandra's. For a first date, buy a selection of cheeses, find a bench overlooking Little Italy and enjoy tasting each cheese together. It is definitely a unique and unforgettable first date experience.

Prince Coffee House

If coffee and a pastry are more your style, then head to Prince Coffee House on the corner of Little Italy. This quaint coffee house has a selection of classic and specialty coffee and teas. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating with a fantastic atmosphere regardless of where you sit. Make sure to pick one of their delicious pastries to enjoy while chatting and sipping your coffee. If you aren't a big coffee drinker, you can enjoy one of their delicious smoothies or milkshakes as well. Overall this is an excellent spot for a first date, grabbing coffee with friends, or just doing some work off-campus.
