The Location

It may look like a dive, but the food certainly makes up for what Falafel, Inc. lacks in appearance. It is located right off the main  street of Georgetown at 1210 Potomac St NW, Washington, DC 20007. With no intention of finding or nevertheless reviewing the restaurant, I found Falafel, Inc. on Google Maps while out shopping in Georgetown. Immediately upon stumbling across Google’s recommendation, I convinced my falafel loving friends to try it with me. One of the main reasons my friends and I wanted to try this hidden gem was because we noticed how incredibly cheap the food was.

The Order

We ended up ordering their classic falafel sandwich, falafel bowl, and their zaatar fries. The cost was perfect for a college student: the sandwich was $3, the bowl was $4, and the fries were $3.

The Taste

The falafel in both the sandwich and the bowl was surprisingly authentic and delicious for how little we had to pay. It is more of a grab and go than a sit-down place, but I personally didn’t mind this aspect as we were just looking for a quick bite. The tiny restaurant was very crowded when we got there, but quickly cleared out and we had our food within five minutes. The crispy crust of the falafel and the savory center paired flawlessly with their house sauces. They had six sauces you could sample: garlic, white, mazbout, habibi, red, and invisible. My favorite, the “white sauce,” added a nice cooling flavor to the spicy sandwich.

The Review

Out of all the items we tried, I would recommend the falafel sandwich the most because you get more bang for your buck. It’s essentially everything you get in the salad bowl but wrapped up in a pita. As for the zaatar fries, I wouldn’t get them again only because they had too much salt and seasoning which made me want to buy something to drink. Falafel Inc. is definitely the perfect place to stop by for a late-night snack or for a quick and cheap place to eat while shopping in the notoriously ‘expensive’ neighborhood.
