I try to eat pretty healthy. I have some allergies that limit what I can eat, but I like to think my will power is pretty good. Well, except when it comes to ice cream. When I found out I was lactose intolerant, I was SO upset. But then I found Wink Ice Cream. Wink is a healthy ice cream brand based out of Stamford, Connecticut that makes allergy-friendly, low-calorie ice cream. I discovered Wink Ice Cream when I was home for the summer, and I immediately fell in love with it! I became obsessed with trying all of the Wink flavors.
Vanilla Bean
Vanilla Bean is a staple for any ice cream company. While many people think Vanilla can be "boring," Wink makes sure that theirs is anything but! Wink's Vanilla Bean is truly amazing on its own, but if you're feeling adventurous, you can spice it up by adding a variety of toppings.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
This is the perfect flavor for the fall! I am a huge fan of pumpkin anything, and this ice cream did not disappoint. This pint would be a great addition to a variety of pumpkin spice snacks.
Strawberry
This ice cream is so fruity! Strawberry is one of my favorite flavors that Wink Ice Cream has to offer. When you open the lid, the color is so appealing. When I'm looking at what I'm about to eat, seeing how natural this pink was made a huge difference for me because I knew I was going to have a naturally sweet flavor, not something artificial.
Cake Batter
This is the perfect flavor for anyone who licks the spoon before the batter is cooked! Cake Batter is one of Wink Ice Cream's most popular flavors, and I can see why! I love all things cake batter, but sometimes I find that this flavor can sometimes be just a little too sweet. Wink did an amazing job of capturing the sweetness of a birthday cake, but not overdoing the flavor.
Lemon Cake
Lemon cake has such a burst of flavor. Every bite is an explosion of citrus. This is the perfect summer snack to bring to the beach or eat by the pool.
S'Mores
This pint transported me to a campfire. When I first picked it up, I was expecting it to have a very similar flavor profile to Dark Chocolate, but boy was I wrong. You can really taste the balance between the marshmallow, graham cracker, and chocolate flavors.
Dark Chocolate
Wink's Dark Chocolate is a perfect partner for a nice cup of hot chocolate. It is so smooth and has the perfect amount of chocolate. I would 10/10 recommend these to any chocolate lover.
Strawberry Cheesecake
I was already a huge fan of the strawberry Wink Ice Cream, so I was super ready to try this. I opened the lid and it smelt like fresh berries with a hint of cream. I thought that strawberry cheesecake was the closest to "real ice cream" out of all the flavors, in regard to both texture and sweetness.
Cinnamon Bun
This was one of the flavors that I was most excited to try. Cinnamon Buns are one of the foods that I have missed the most since I found out I am gluten intolerant, so I was eager to open this up. Wink did not disappoint! While this flavor tastes a little more "chemically" than the others, I still thought that it was a very good substitute for the sweetness that I have been craving.
Salted Caramel
I am a sucker for all things caramel. In my opinion, this flavor had a consistency similar to Italian Ice rather than regular ice cream. But the taste was great!
Choco Mint
I have never been a huge chocolate and mint fan, so I was a little skeptical at first. I opened the pint and was pleased that I was not looking at an artificial mint green. The flavors were very natural, and I was very surprised by how much I loved it.
Overall, I am a huge fan of Wink Ice Cream. Some flavors weren't for me, but others were outstanding, so there is definitely one for everyone. Wink Ice Cream is a great ice cream alternative for people who are trying the keto diet, eating less sugar, watching out for allergens, or craving a low-calorie snack.
