It is no secret that college students take a specific liking to fast, cheap, and accessible food that not only satisfies their adventurous taste buds, but keeps them away from the grocery store for as long as possible. Between the late-night indulgences, quick study snacks, and less-than-substantial dining hall meals, students know how difficult it can be to maintain a somewhat healthy lifestyle. This is even harder while making time to study and trying not to break the bank. This is where Good Uncle comes in - the new cutting-edge food delivery system designed specifically to cater to college students.

As you might suspect, the most important aspect of their brand is the food. Each meal is crafted by Michelin-Starred Restaurateur, as well as an entire team of highly experienced chefs to curate the best food for the best of scholars. Each dish is designed specifically for easy delivery, and as they display on their website “gone are the days of soggy food - arriving late - handed to you out of a 2002 sedan." Thanks to their unique delivery technique, students do not have to pay any additional delivery charges and only have to walk a short distance to a convenient pick-up location. Students of shall we say “little motivation” should see this is an opportunity to cut out the grueling hike to Main Street to retrieve their meals. In an average of just 17 minutes, your food could be happily sitting on your kitchen table; hot and ready to devour.

Good Uncle knows college students, and knows them well. Through their extensive data collection and research, they have successfully curated a business model that follows the iron triangle of price, convenience, and quality. Often times, food companies of this nature can only hit two of these bases. This forces students to decide between good food at a cost, quick delivery paired with low-quality eats, or good food at a cheap price, but a less than convenient delivery. Good Uncle covers all three effectively - meals are no more than $12, delivery is free and fast, and each dish is prepared daily.

They offer a wide array of delicious eats, ranging from their best selling Pesto Salmon Plate, Buffalo Chicken Dip, and Strawberry Kale Salad. Their menu is inclusive of a Sweet Treats section for those in need of a sweet satisfier, a Weekend Brunch portion for the classy ones, and an entire Salad section for the health nuts. Whether you're in need of some Sunday afternoon football nosh, or a hearty plate of Penne alla Vodka, Good Uncle has you fully covered. Not to mention, their menu is altered bi-weekly to ensure variety and to keep up-to-date with the culinary needs of students.

Good Uncle is on the steady incline, spreading their business on college campuses all across the country. With their eight current locations, they are successfully serving students with what they need most - good food at a good price. Here at the University of Delaware, Good Uncle is of service to all Blue Hens. There is often a debate as to which fast-casual restaurant on Main Street takes precedent, or which late-night delivery service is the best, but of all the talk about Good Uncle, there never seems to be any bad banter.

I spoke to a few UD students about their Good Uncle experiences, and got some pretty positive feedback. "It's nice being able to know that when I don't want to cook, I can easily get warm food delivered near me" says a busy senior living off campus. She ordered the Spinach Dip, and claims it was "the perfect comfort food for Sunday night football". That's pretty hard to beat, if I do say so myself.
