Too busy to cook meals? Too little time to cut veggies? Want to make something special with ordinary ingredients? No worries, the waffle machine will solve all your concerns! All you need to do is put one or multiple ingredients into the waffle machine and press it down for a few minutes.

1) Croffle

The first food I will introduce that is my all-time favorite is a dish called "croffle" - this term is a combination of "croissant" and "waffle" that was invented in 2017 by an Irish pastry chef Louise Lennox. Since 2019, this dish has been a huge hit in South Korea where I first learned about its existence and got to try what it tastes like.

While baking croissant dough in an oven takes 8-12 minutes, the waffle machine saves you 6-9 minutes, while also adding more texture to the croissant. Add a twist to the dish by cooking the dough with cheese or brown sugar to add a more savory or sweet flavor! In a few minutes, you have a perfectly delicious breakfast cooked right in front of you.

How To Make It:

As you can tell by the two words, the recipe is very simple: put a croissant on the waffle machine and press it down for 2-3 minutes.

The croissant can either be in dough or baked form, but cooking a raw croissant tastes much better from personal experience. The waffle maker will flatten the croissant, enhancing the crispiness on the outside while maintaining the moisture and chewiness on the inside.

2) Pizza Waffle

The second food item you can easily make for a filling lunch or dinner is a pizza waffle!

The toast cooked with a waffle machine tastes exactly like the crispy pizza crust from restaurants which would have taken a longer time to make if baked in the oven or be even more costly if you buy the pizza. The ingredients listed above to make this pizza waffle will cost around $12 and you'll be able to make multiple pizza waffles, whereas you only get a single pizza from a restaurant with the same amount of money.

How To Make It:

Prepare two pieces of toast, cheese, ketchup, and any type of meat such as ham, sausage, or pepperoni. First, put a piece of toast on the waffle machine, and put the remaining ingredients in the order of ketchup, meat, cheese, and the second piece of toast. Push down the waffle maker for 4-5 minutes, and you'll see a hot, cheese-drooping pizza waffle that will water your mouth immediately.

If you're running late to class or work but want to cook something quick, I highly recommend these recipes. The waffle maker is not only easy to use, but also increases both taste and quality of the food!

With Christmas around the corner, ask for a waffle maker as a fun gift from family and friends!
