MLB Food Fest did not disappoint once again. If you are a foodie and baseball fan, this is definitely the place where you want to be. With fan favorites like the Pittsburgh Pirate's pulled pork pierogi hoagie and the Arizona D-Back's churro dog, you really cannot go wrong with any of the food options. In addition to trying all 30 food items from ballparks around the league, fans had the opportunity to take part in a virtual reality home run derby, ride a hot dog seesaw, and even jump into a "ketchup and fry" themed ball pit.

The scene was reminiscent of a stadium, where vendors come around and offer free Utz Snacks. Another awesome touch was the Coca Cola coolers planted in various locations throughout the event, which made grabbing a soft drink fast and easy. Personally, I loved the photo booth with the MLB Food Fest background. This was a perfect location for fans to grab that Instagram-worthy shot. And of course, I couldn't pass up the all-you-can-eat soft-serve section, where you could grab a chocolate and vanilla swirl in a baseball helmet with all sorts of toppings.

Top of the Lineup Food Picks:

Tampa Bay Rays: Short Rib Grilled Cheese

David Salmonson

This succulent grilled cheese packed with short rib and caramelized onions on sourdough bread was a crowd-pleaser. No wonder this was the longest line I waited on at the event. Pro tip: longest lines = the best food.

Chicago White Sox: Elote Nuggets

David Salmonson

In case you didn't know, elote is a Mexican street corn. When I saw this dish was going to be available at MLB Food Fest, I knew I had to try it. These nuggets presented an innovative spin on street corn. Let me tell you, this is exactly what you want when you are watching a game.

Los Angeles Angels: Kung Pao Chicken Drumsticks

I don't know about you, but kung pao chicken is one of my go-tos. This was a culinary masterpiece that combined a Chinese take-out classic and traditional chicken wings. What an amazing concept.

Oakland Athletics: Brisket Nachos

David Salmonson

These are nach-your average stadium nachos. These tortilla chips were loaded with beef brisket, scallions, salsa, sour cream, cheese, and more cheese!

Miami Marlins: Chicken & Bubble Waffle

The Miami Marlins put a unique twist on a comfort food classic. This take on chicken and waffles was certainly a memorable one. Honestly, I am still reminiscing about the heavenly maple aioli.

Washington Nationals: "See You Tater" Backyard BBQ Tots

David Salmonson

Mac and cheese, pulled pork, crispy onions, and tater tots? Count me in. What more can you possibly want on game day? I am hungry just thinking about these larger than life tots.

Conclusion

Another year has come and gone, and the MLB Food Fest in the Big Apple remains a smashing success. With new and exciting food items exhibited around the league, I must say it is pretty hard not to find something you will enjoy at a baseball game.  Thank you so much to the MLB for having me.
