Who doesn’t love a good artificially cheesy snack? Snacking on orange-colored snacks satisfies any salty craving. Everyone can agree on that. The piece of the puzzle that divides many is what's the better cheesy snack: Cheez-Its or Goldfish? While both have many to offer, it is time to settle this debate once and for all.

The People Have Spoken

Upon taking a poll with 72 people on which snack they prefer, the results were close but Cheez-Its walked away with 57% of the votes. While it isn’t a strong lead, we can infer that people like Cheez-Its more. But is the snack better for you than Goldfish?

Winner: Cheez-Its

The Healthier Option

In one serving of Goldfish, there are 5 grams of fat, 10 milligrams of cholesterol, 250 milligrams of sodium, 20 grams of carbohydrates, and 3 grams of protein. In one serving of Cheez-Its, there are 8 grams of fat, 0 milligrams of cholesterol, 230 milligrams of sodium, 17 grams of carbohydrates, and 3 grams of protein. While Goldfish are slightly lower in fat, Cheez-Its are slightly lower in sodium, cholesterol, and carbohydrates. The Cost

Cost is an important factor to consider when talking about which cheesy snack is better. On average a box of Cheez-Its has 324 crackers in it. At Target, this box can be bought for $3.39. This means that $1 gets you 95 crackers or 106 ounces (about 3.5 servings) in a box of Cheez-Its. On the other hand, a box of goldfish on average has 1540 crackers in it.
