It’s that time of year where all you want to do is cuddle up by the fireplace with a nice, warm bowl of oatmeal. I crafted five seasonal oatmeal bowls to satisfy these cravings! These easy meals require only a few seasonal ingredients and just a little bit of your time. However, the resulting creation is a delicious, nutritious, and cozy breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

To begin, place equal parts water, milk, and steel-cut oats in a pot and bring it to just under a simmer, stirring occasionally not to burn the milk or the oats on the bottom of the pot. For one serving, ½ cup of each ingredient is recommended. It should take about 20 minutes to cook for steel-cut oats, 7 minutes to cook for quick-cooking steel-cut oats, 5 minutes for old-fashioned oats, and 60 seconds for instant oats. Overnight oats also make a great base for toppings!

Now, this is where the fun begins for each bowl: the toppings! Toppings are a great way to add dynamic flavor to a basic food like oatmeal. There is not an exact science for the amount of each topping needed, so just eyeball it or use our pictures as your guide. The key is to put as much of each ingredient as you prefer! But here’s a general guideline for a ½ cup serving of oatmeal.
